Splitting the world economy into equal chunks allows comparisons between regions at a glance
Remember when the USA and the USSR were superpowers, with China a distant third? Well, now the map shows the US economy as 14 circles and the Russian economy as just 1 circle. China is growing fast with 6 circles and counting.
The disparity between north and south is clear from the map. The three northern continents (North America, Europe and Asia) have economies the same size, with 18 circles each. The rest of the world (Central America, South America, the Middle East and Africa) shares just 6 circles total.
